How We Work

The Consult, Design, Construct process is how we deliver shade sails and structures that are high quality, long lasting, and low maintenance. We approach your project collaboratively to make sure that every aspect of the final design is exactly what your school needs.

Greenline becomes your one point of contact throughout the entire process, from concept to completion.

Consult

In the consult phase we work with you to discover exactly what you want to achieve in the space.

Shadow Mapping

Is carried out on every project to make sure that the shade sails are best positioned to maximise the shade they provide each day.

We Discuss

with you how the space is currently used, and what you want to achieve with the space

We Determine

the level of weather/sun protection needed which helps decide what materials to use in your structure – shade fabric, PVC, or steel.

Aesthetics

The final step in the design process is choosing the steel finish and fabric colour/s for your structure.

Compliance

All Greenline shade sails are VSBA compliant with minimum clearance heights of 3m and built to Australian Standards AS 4685.1

Fabric Reinforcing And PTFE Stitching

By reinforcing fabric at high stress points, and using PTFE fabric stitching, your shade sail will withstand wind of 130km/h plus.

Site Specific Engineering

This means the location of your school, and the structure within the school, will be considered to ensure maximum longevity and minimal maintenance

Design

In the design phase our team looks at all aspects of the project to come up with a structure that fits the brief we created in the consult phase. We approach design with practicality, functionality, and creativity in mind.

Construct

In the construct phase our project managers work closely with our experienced and vetted teams of installers for a safe and efficient project installation.

Service Location

Greenline carries out service location before beginning every project to ensure safe and compliant install of shade sails and structures.

Compliance

We are independently audited annually for ISO9001, ISO14001, and AS4801.

Minimal Time On Site

From our experience with working on live school sites we know the importance of minimising the impact of construction on school activities.

School Shade Sails Fund FAQs

Some of the most frequently asked questions answered

How much shade can I get for $25,000?

The most common permanent shade structures for schools are the classic hypar Shade Sail and the single post Star Structure. Price is dependent on a few things, but the main two are accessibility in the area (can we drive a truck/equipment into the space?) and potential services (gas, electricity, etc) running beneath the area you are covering. A full underground services location is included in all our quotes.
Dependent on these two things, $25,000 could fund one of the following options:
• 144 Square Metres: Shade Sails or Star Structures designed for sun protection only (traditional shade mesh fabric). With a 1 person per 2sqm limit this would shade 72 people.
• 36 Square Metres: PVC Sails or Star Structures designed to be waterproof and block 100% UV (PVC fabric). With a 1 person per 2sqm limit this would shade 18 people.
